Thread veins or Telangiectasia (also known as broken capillaries). They are small dilated blood vessels on the surface of the skin. They can develop anywhere on the body but are commonly seen on the face around the nose, cheeks and chin. There are many possible causes of these e.g. sun and UV damage, harsh weather exposure, pregnancy, certain medications, eating spicy foods, hormonal influences, hereditary links etc.
